Inspiration Board
One of the joys of my job is that I can spend all day looking at fashion magazines and call in research. This is my inspiration board from fall/winter2010. It's about to come down and be replaced with wonderful images for spring. Some things will be left and will carry over into my seasonal transition items...

Happy Monday!
Back in Manhattan for a few days before I head south and homeward to officially go back to work in my home studio. This is how I'm feeling lately- Fireworks and great things with possible thunderstorm and lightning works to come. Could be a good thing or a bad storm. Something thunderstorms are great for gardens and to wash things clean. Wait and see...

Seriously love this song. Mr.Mo sent me this precious video.
I just die when she looks up at her daddy and says, "One I'm going to whistle?" xox

Lost in the Trees
Amazing band! Lost in the Trees, local to Chapel Hill, NC. Music that I hold dear and close to my heart. See their east coast tour schedule, they will be opening for Neko Case here and there! As usual, I love this video of Neko's because of all the mixed media and animation in it. Beautiful! Personally, I would love to see the two bands together (duh..) and hope to make it up to see the February 2nd show in Providence (to visit my Mr. Mo too <3). Enjoy!

Paper Dolls
Growing up I played religiously with paper dolls from Japan. Every year we would go for spring break and I would bring home books of paper dolls of various anime characters, cut them out on the airplane, and make them all be friends with each other. I've been wanting to make my own for a long time. These are some inspirational shots...

I absolutely adore art work by Emily W. Martin of (Inside a Black Apple). She has made a great paper doll book which you can order here. I especially love her idea of making cards that can be cut out as dolls.
You can buy her things on her etsy page, The Black Apple! Her Black Apple Paper Dolls are only $15!! I think that's good as free considering how much fun I had playing with paper dolls when I was little, and I really think it planted the seed for what I do now, which is like life size, 3D paper doll fun!
